'LEGO Creator - Harry Potter' was the third game developed for LEGO Media Interactive. As with the previous two, I was responsible for all the content, but not the environments. This one was particularly awkward as the plastic kits were still under development and hadn't been approved by Warner Bros. (the copyright holders) at the beginning of the project.
After receiving photos of the prototype models and a visit to LEGO HQ in Billund, Denmark, we were able to identify a good range of content. But in discussion with the game designer we realised that a range of modular pieces would be required as well. These I designed and was able to clear with the LEGO project managers.
This is by far the most internally complex LEGO Creator to date, and the specifications from the programmers was not finalised until late in the project, so a certain amount of revisiting of finished models needed to be done as the requirements were firmed up. Luckily we had anticipated this and had made allowances.
