My first attempt at intergrating a live image with one of my raytraces. The original photo was taken by my landlady in the back garden with a bed sheet as a backdrop and some objects in the photo I knew the size and relative positions of. I used a figure from 'Poser' to cast my main shadow and a version of the scanned photo to line up the raytrace, then I used Photoshop to assemble the final scene. There was a layer with the Poser figure, one without, the scanned photo, some detail cut from the raytrace and moved to the forground, and a layer with some extra shadow painted on it (plus a few more layers, I forget the exact details). The insect like creature is the star of some of my hand drawn comic strips, appearing here for the first (but not last) time in a computer generated version.
